City of Victoria facilities will be observing the holiday schedule below for Victoria Day on Monday, May 21. Police, fire and those who provide emergency streets and utility services are available 24/7.

Kitchen Scraps and Garbage Collection
Kitchen Scraps and Garbage collection will not occur on Monday, May 21. You can view your Kitchen Scraps and Garbage collection schedule here.

Garden Waste Drop-Off
City of Victoria residents can drop off their garden waste, year-round at the Public Works Yard at 417 Garbally Road, Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Please bring a City of Victoria utility bill or a driver's licence which shows residence at a property that has Kitchen Scraps and Garbage service. This service is not for commercial use. The garden waste drop-off area will be open on Saturday, March 19. For more information, call 250.361.0400 or click here.

Emergency Streets and Utilities Services
Emergency streets and utility services are not affected by the holiday and can be contacted day or night at 250.361.0400.

Parking downtown at City parkades and at on-street meters will be free on Sunday, May 20 and on Monday, May 21 for Victoria Day. Pay parking is in effect 24/7 at the City's surface parking lots.

120th Island Farms Victoria Day Parade and Celebration Square
Celebrate Victoria Day at the 120th Island Farms Victoria Day Parade and Celebration Square! Join us on Monday, May 21 from 9 a.m. - noon for Victoria’s largest parade, which features talented Canadian and American marching bands, colour guards, drill teams, community and commercial floats, multicultural organizations and many local businesses! Led by the Canadian Forces, this annual event is FREE and fun for the whole family! The parade route runs along Douglas Street from Finlayson to Humboldt Streets. Learn more.

Organized by the Greater Victoria Festival Society, this year’s theme is “Blast from the Past: Celebrating the 50/60/70/80s” so come dressed up in your fave retro outfit.

Be sure to visit Celebration Square from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Centennial Square for some family fun! Enjoy children's entertainers, crafts, bouncy castles, face painting, a climbing wall, and grab a bit to eat at food trucks. Learn more.

The Esquimalt Lions Club will serve breakfast at 8 a.m. before the parade starts. All proceeds will go to the BC Children’s Cancer Fund.
