Half-Masting of Canadian Flag for the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 9

The Canadian flag will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, April 9 on all City of Victoria establishments to mark the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

The Canadian flag on all Government of Canada buildings across the country and provincial buildings across BC will also be flown at half-mast. Where a Canadian flag and another flag fly near to one other, both flags will be lowered to half-mast.

Note: The Canadian flag at City Hall will continue to be flown at half-mast until after the memorial service on Thursday afternoon for Nils Jensen, the former mayor of Oak Bay, who past away on Sunday after a brief battle with cancer. The service will take place Thursday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at Oak Bay High School.
