Tour de Victoria is Saturday, August 17

Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria is a traffic controlled, fully supported, mass-participation cycling event that takes place on Saturday, August 17 from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in downtown Victoria and throughout Greater Victoria. View maps here.
Riders of all fitness levels can take part in the ride by choosing one of seven distances.
All rides start and finish at Victorian's Inner Harbour at the BC's Legislative Buildings.
What You Need to Know
- Police, certified traffic control attendants and course marshals, will control cyclists and traffic flow along the route.
- The first ride starts in downtown Victoria at 7 a.m., travels 160km around the region and ends downtown at 3:30 p.m.
- The route only affects certain roads in each municipality and timing varies in each area.
- Expect minor traffic delays throughout the region.
To accommodate the event, the following roads will be closed in Victoria.
Saturday, August 17
4 a.m. - 6 p.m. - Belleville between Government and Coho Driveway and Menzies Street from Belleville to Quebec Street
6:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - Government Street between Superior and Humboldt/Wharf Streets. There will be no access open to the Fairmont Empress on Government Street.
10:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m - Belleville Street between Coho Driveway and Pendray Street. Government Street will re-open after riders have left the area (approximately 9:15 a.m.).
The event finishes at 4 p.m. Belleville Street will re-open no later than 6 p.m.
