MONDAY, MAY 20
121 Island Farms Victoria Day Parade
Celebrate Victoria Day at the 121st Island Farms Victoria Day Parade on Monday, May 20 from 9 a.m. - noon. The Parade runs along Douglas Street from Finlayson to Courtney Streets.
Hosted by the Greater Victoria Festival Society, the Parade is FREE and FUN for the entire family! The multicultural event will feature talented Canadian and American marching bands, community and commercial floats, and a range of cultural performances.
Prior to the start of the Parade, Stages Dance Company will perform in front of City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. View event poster.
On Monday, drop by Celebration Square from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Centennial Square for food vendors, entertainment, performances, craft, virtual reality, and soccer darts.
Victoria Day Douglas Mile
The Victoria Day Douglas Mile is your opportunity to run down Douglas Street starting at Burnside and Douglas to the finish line at City Hall before the Victoria Day Parade starts. There are two waves of participants: the High Performance Wave, which will start at 8:30 a.m. and the Main Start, which will start at 8:35 a.m.
All proceeds will support the 21 partner charities of event organizers GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon, the Victoria Festivals Society and the Victoria Marathon Society. You can also donate more to each of the charities by adding to your registration fee. When you register, choose the Charity Partner you would like to donate partial proceeds of your registration fee to. Each participant will receive a race bag. All participants must be able to finish the Mile distance within 25 minutes. Register here.
Parking will be FREE at City Parkades and at on-street meters on Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day. On-street parking will not be available along the Parade route. Consider walking, cycling or taking BC Transit downtown. Please arrive early as the Parade is extremly popular!
Pay parking at on-street meters is in effect daily from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., except on holidays. Sunday on-street parking has a four-hour time limit, with a fee of $2 per hour in a 90-minute zone and $1 per hour in other areas of downtown.
Parking is FREE at City parkades on Sundays and holidays.
