Overdose Awareness Day is August 31

A flag to mark International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31 will be flown outside City Hall from Friday, August 28 to Tuesday, September 1.
Overdose Awareness Day is a a global event to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends.
Candlelight Vigil of Remembrance
A virtual Candlelight Vigil of Remembrance hosted by Moms Stop the Harm will take place on Monday, August 31 at 7 p.m. The Facebook Live event will feature words of remembrance and live music, plus guest speakers Dr. Bonnie Henry, Leslie McBain from Moms Stop the Harm and Victoria City Councillor Marianne Alto.
