Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre Opens Monday, February 1

The City’s recreation team is ready to welcome the community back to Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre. The recreation facility will reopen on Monday, February 1 for swimming and fitness centre use after an extended closure.

Registration is now open! Learn more and register.

“Access to recreation provides much needed physical, mental and emotional health benefits at a time our community needs them most,” said Mayor Lisa Helps. “Opening Crystal Pool is a significant step in our recreation recovery plan and the safety measures in place allow people to stay safe while they stay active.”

Due to public health requirements and capacity limits, advance registration is required. People will be able to book online and by phone for a pool visit, a fitness visit, or register for an upcoming program, such as swim lessons and fitness classes.

The City’s priority is safety and all required COVID-19 protocols are in place to create a safe environment for visitors and staff. Capacity will be managed to prevent crowding and visits will be limited to 90 minutes. Under public health requirements, masks are required in all indoor public spaces and should only be removed when showering, in the pool, or while participating in a sport or fitness activity.

Time was used during the pandemic closure to complete repairs to the air handling system. This work was originally scheduled to take place in 2021, however the City took the opportunity to advance the work.

Welcome back!
