Honorary Citizen Award

Nominations are now closed for the 2025 Honorary Citizen Award.

The Honorary Citizen Award was established in 1970, it celebrates those who have served the community in any walk of life, often in a volunteer capacity. The awards are presented every four years.  

Nominees must be a current or former resident of the local First Nations, the City of Victoria or the Capital Region. They must demonstrate outstanding contributions in one of the 13 categories: arts and culture, business, communication, community/volunteer, education, environment, heritage, Indigenous, inspirational youth (up to and including 24 years of age), multicultural, social/health issues, sports or other. 

How to Nominate

The completed nomination package must be submitted by June 30, 2025 and include the following:

  1. Nomination Form - ensure it is signed by both nominator
  2.  A digital photo of nominee approved for publication
  3.  Statement of Nomination (four pages maximum)
  4.  Two support letters (one from each nominator)
