Local Champions Program

Local Champions is a community-based leadership development program for Victoria residents to gain the skills, confidence and relationships to become more active and engaged in their community.

Participants gain hands-on experience in community organizing and facilitation. Sessions focus on building practical skills, confidence and relationships. After graduation, you will be well prepared to take part in local projects and associations.

Program Details
This eight-part training series runs from April to September and is led by the City's Neighbourhood Team and guest presenters. There are 24 seats in this program for City of Victoria residents.

Local Champions is being offered at a subsidized cost of $250 per participant (the market value is over $2,500). If you’re interested in climate action, accessibility or downtown beautification, apply for a free, City-sponsored space in the program.

If the $250 fee is a barrier to participation, a limited number of City-supported spaces are available. Other accommodations are available upon request.
