Recreation in the City of Victoria is offered on the homelands of the Songhees and Esquimalt People.
Helping You Stay Active
Recreation services are essential to active, healthy and connected communities, and they contribute enormously to the vibrancy and resiliency of our city. The ability to engage in recreation and physical activity protects and supports our physical, mental and emotional health.
Recreation staff are currently focusing on creating opportunities for the community at outdoor recreation facilities, such as playgrounds, sports fields and Royal Athletic Park, and preparing for the reopening of the Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre in early 2021.
Read the Parks and Recreation COVID-19 Recovery Plan for more information about how we’re keeping you and our staff safe. Facilities and services listed under Level 1 and Level 2 of the plan are currently operating.

Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre
The Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre will be reopening in early 2021. Staff are using time during the pool closure to complete repairs to the air handling system. This work was originally scheduled to take place in 2021. However, preliminary testing identified the need to do repairs sooner, and the work is nearly complete.
We’ll have more information soon about what to expect and how to book your visit.
