Flushing
Victoria’s water mains are flushed twice a year. This helps to remove sediment and maintain high quality drinking water. The flushing happens:
- in the spring – January to the end of May
- in the fall – September to the end of November
Work takes place during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasionally, evening work will take place to avoid impacting business and traffic flow. Weather permitting, the City of Victoria will begin the spring round of water main flushing on Monday, February 3, 2025 for the following area:

As a result of the flushing process, you may temporarily experience low water pressure. Your water may become discoloured during or after flushing. The discoloured water is not a hazard to health. If you experience discoloured water, please run the cold water tap in your bathtub or laundry tub to avoid clogging screens in faucets.
Businesses are invited to contact Public Works at 250.361.0400 for details and to receive an advanced warning of flushing dates.
