Victoria Music Strategy
The Victoria Music Strategy is a long-term plan for the growth of the City’s music sector. The strategy identifies opportunities to promote the uniqueness of Victoria’s music scene.
Five major priority areas make up the strategy:
- Remove regulatory barriers and create music-friendly policies
- Preserve existing spaces and encourage the development of new spaces
- Build local capacity for artists to develop their music careers
- Grow audiences and expand access to music in all its forms
- Seek partnerships and collaborations to explore new innovative music platforms and experiences
Focusing on these priorities ensures that the music community continues to be dynamic, inclusive and diverse.
2024 Victoria Music Strategy Grant Program
The City’s Victoria Music Strategy Grant program enables not-for-profit organizations to action strategic directions and priorities identified in the City’s Victoria Music Strategy.
Musicians, bands or commercial venues seeking grant funding must partner with a not-for-profit or charitable organization in order to apply.

2024/2025 Musicians Roster
The City has updated its 2024/2025 roster of pre-qualified local musicians to activate Victoria public spaces throughout the year. Thank you to all those who applied. The application deadline was December 17, 2023. Applications were reviewed by a panel of local music professionals. Those selected were contacted in February 2024.
