The Victoria Fire Department provides fire and rescue emergency services, in addition to fire prevention, safety and emergency preparednss education to the Capital City.
EVENT: The Gala for Hope Fundraiser!
The Victoria Fire Department invites you to attend The Gala for Hope fundraiser in support of the BC Cancer Foundation on Friday, June 29 from 6 p.m. – 1 a.m. at the Crystal Garden located at 713 Douglas Street.
This formal event will begin with a no-host cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by a delicious three-course meal catered by the Fairmont Empress at 7 p.m., in addition to key note speakers, DJ music and dancing.
Help raise much needed funds for cancer research by participating in our Silent Auction, featuring a range of local restaurant packages, signed sports jerseys, and a Tofino getaway!
Our Live Auction will offer some unique items – such as ‘Fire in the Kitchen,’ where a group of fire fighters will plan, shop and cook a full dinner for up to 10 people at a location of your choice. Or bid on the opportunity for a Victoria fire truck to attend your child’s birthday, or the chance to be a ‘Fire Fighter for a Day’ where you’ll join an engine crew, respond to calls and take part in all daily routines!
Tickets are $150 and are available at the Victoria Fire Department Fire Station #1 at 1234 Yates Street daily from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Payment is by cash or cheque made payable to the Victoria Firefighters Benefit Society.

The Victoria Fire Department is committed to ensuring that your property and your neighbourhood are kept safe. We offer several prevention programs which include: Free Home Smoke Alarms, Juvenile Firesetters, Hoarding Support Group, Commercial Mobile Cooking Operations and Residential Underground Oil Tank Removal. Fire Inspections and Regulations
Fire inspectors play an important role in ensuring the public’s safety from fire at public buildings, offices, malls and residential apartments and homes. Inspectors check that fire protection systems are correctly installed according to the BC Fire Code (2012) and are kept up to date on their required service. Learn more.
Fire Stations and Fleet
The Victoria Fire Department has three fire stations which house important fire fighting apparatus, vehicles, dispatch services and administrative offices to serve the community. The fleet also includes two fire boats to help protect Victoria’s Inner Habour and adjoining waterways. We are looking to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to assist in emergency response.
