Twelve bronze sculptures of life-size hands engaged in activities that symbolize the Capital City's history and identity are now ready to be explored around downtown Victoria. On May 22, 2013, the community joined Mayor Dean Fortin, British Columbia-based artist Crystal Przybille, and Franc D'Ambrosio, a member of the City of Victoria Art in Public Places committee for the official unveiling of "The Hands of Time" public artwork which commemorates the City of Victoria's 150th anniversary of incorporation in 2012.

Today, the Honourable Ron Cannan, Member of Parliament for Kelowna-Lake Country joined City of Victoria Mayor Dean Fortin and Sean Brock, Vice President and District Manager of PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc., to officially kick off the start of construction at the Johnson Street Bridge site in downtown Victoria.

The Victoria Book Prize Society is now accepting submissions for the $5,000 City of Victoria Butler Book Prize and the $5,000 Bolen Books Children's Book Prize. David Foster and his wife Yolanda joined Mayor Dean Fortin at Ship Point this afternoon to discuss the City's concept plans for the 11 special places along David Foster Way. During the informal overview, David Foster announced a personal donation of $50,000 for the further development of the five kilometre harbour walkway plan.
