Project scope
The City is lining the 100-year-old brick storm drain that runs under Oxford, Olive and Joseph Streets.
Crews are using an innovative construction method to rehabilitate the storm drain from inside the old pipe. This technique better for the environment, less expensive and less disruptive for residents.
Intermittent construction impacts will begin in November 2025 and continue until May 2026.
Why now?
Upgrading our underground assets helps serve our growing community, reduces future maintenance costs and protects critical infrastructure from earthquakes and climate events.
Project impacts
While work is underway you can expect the following impacts:
- Construction equipment and materials on site starting in late-November 2025
- Construction activity planned for January to May 2026
- Traffic and pedestrian restrictions
- Temporary loss of some on-street parking
- Construction noise and vibrations
