The Business Experience Survey is an ongoing feedback tool to help the City of Victoria better understand systemic issues in City processes, requirements, approvals and service interactions that affect businesses over time. Feedback is reviewed to identify common themes and opportunities to improve how the City supports businesses.
This survey is not intended to resolve individual issues or service requests. If you need immediate assistance with a current issue, please contact the Business Hub at bizhub@victoria.ca, where staff can provide assistance and connect you with the right department, as needed.

The City supports three, key economic development programs in the community.
BC Green Business - BC Green Business was launched by the Synergy Foundation in 2013 under the name “Vancouver Island Green Business Collective” to provide Vancouver Island-based businesses with affordable certification and actionable checklists to make their business more sustainable. The program expanded province-wide on its 10-year anniversary in 2023 under the new name BC Green Business. Today, BC Green Business represents businesses that are committed to making positive change for the planet, the people and the community.
Circular Economy Accelerator - The City's Economic Development and Zero Waste divisions support the Circular Economy Accelerator program, which provides hands-on support to businesses on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast that seek to adopt circular economy principles, reduce waste and emissions, increase revenue and develop innovative practices. This program – the first of its kind in Canada – will position your business as a leader in the circular economy, attracting talent and investment, increasing revenue, and paving the way to a prosperous, sustainable and resilient future for your community.
Downtown Victoria Business Association Grants – The Downtown Victoria Business Association offers a range of financial assistance through various grant programs to their members located within their downtown Victoria business improvement boundary. Current grant programs include the Clean, Safe and Sustainable Grant, Security and Vandalism Grant and the Business Façade Beautification Grant.
The Indigenous Business Directory lists self-identified Indigenous businesses in southern Vancouver Island to make it easier for businesses and procurement professionals to find and use their services.
The directory is a community initiative supported by GVHA, City of Victoria, CRD, Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, South Island Prosperity Partnership, and Animikii.
Visit the directory’s website to learn more.
