    Biography

    Krista Loughton is committed to maintaining a well-managed city that takes care of the needs of all residents and businesses. Her vision for Victoria is “A City of Communities” full of walkable, accessible and vibrant neighbourhood villages. She is passionate about increasing housing affordability and implementing innovative solutions to alleviate homelessness.

    Krista is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and business owner who has spent her career raising issues to all levels of government. Her first feature documentary, Us and Them, created an impact by viscerally showing how early childhood trauma correlates to poverty, homelessness and addiction. The film has screened thousands of times throughout North America including on Parliament Hill and at the British Columbia Legislature.

    Krista has a Bachelor of Arts (Specialist) degree in Geography (making the Dean’s Honour List twice). She is set to release a new film in 2023 and lives in Fernwood with her dog, Jedha.
