Business licence renewal payments are due by January 15 each year. 

The City offers a "grace period" before penalties apply. After February 15, a late fee of $25 will apply to business licence accounts with outstanding balances. 

Operating a business without a valid licence may result in a fine of $250 per day.

Business licence payments must be received prior to a licence being issued.

There are a number of convenient ways to pay for your City of Victoria business licence:

  • Online using the City of Victoria's Online Payment Service 
  • At most banks and financial institutions (The account number will be your business licence number noted at the top of your Business Licence Renewal Invoice.)
  • By mail, to: City of Victoria, 1 Centennial Square, Victoria, BC V8W 1P6
  • In person at the Public Service Centre, located on the first floor of Victoria City Hall at 1 Centennial Square. Payment can be made by cash, debit, credit card or cheque. (Cheques are to be made payable to "City of Victoria".)
