VICTORIA, B.C. — The City of Victoria is pleased to announce the nine recipients of its 2025 Honorary Citizen Award.
Award recipients are current or former residents of the local First Nations, the City of Victoria and the Capital Region who have demonstrated outstanding service or personal achievements for the betterment of the community.
The City of Victoria Honorary Citizen Award is presented every four years. Public nominations were reviewed by a selection committee that made recommendations for Council’s consideration. The committee was co-chaired by Councillor Chris Coleman and Councillor Krista Loughton along with four past award recipients.
The City of Victoria Honorary Citizen Award program was established in 1970 as an official recognition of persons who had, over time, served the city meritoriously in any walk of life, often in a volunteer capacity and without recognition.
An awards ceremony is being held to recognize the recipients in early December. For more information visit victoria.ca/honorarycitizen.
