Significant traffic impacts are expected starting next week (March 21-24 and March 28-31) for milling and paving work on Blanshard Street between Caledonia Avenue and Bay Street.

Tentative closure schedule:

  • March 21-24: Northbound Blanshard St. (Caledonia Ave. to Bay St.)
  • March 28-31: Southbound Blanshard St. (Caledonia Ave. to Bay St.)
*Note: On March 21 and 24 the closure will start at Fisgard St.

Construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is weather dependent; it may be delayed by cold or wet conditions.

What to expect:

  • Detours and major traffic delays
  • Some sections of sidewalk will be closed, accessible detours will be provided
  • Cyclists will be asked to dismount and walk when crossing Blanshard St.
  • Access to private properties will be maintained with delays
  • Visit alerts.bctransit.com for live updates on bus route or stop changes

No matter how you get around, use caution when travelling near work zones and follow directions of signs and crews.
