Planning is underway for upgrades to six transportation corridors across the city.

The City is seeking input from residents and commuters on their experiences to inform designs for 2024-25 projects. The project areas are:

Bay Street (Tyee Road to Rock Bay Avenue)
Caledonia Avenue (Government Street to Chambers Street)
Cook Street (Tolmie Avenue to Haultain Street)
Pine Street (Craigflower Road to Dominion Road, plus a section on Hereward Road)
Selkirk Avenue (Arm Street to Styles Street)
Tolmie Avenue (Douglas Street to Jackson Street)
Input can be provided online until October 10, 2023, through surveys, a Q&A forum and an interactive map tool on the City’s online engagement platform. Four drop-in events are also being hosted in September.

Each of these corridors has aging infrastructure – such as underground pipes, road paving and traffic signals – that need to be replaced. The City plans on combining this work with road safety and accessibility upgrades to provide better connections to shopping, recreation and employment areas.

Details about in-person events, project information and resources are available on the 2024-25 Street Upgrades project page at engage.victoria.ca. Provide feedback from August 22 to October 10, 2023.
