Greater Victoria steps into the national spotlight this month as the region plays host to Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada on Sportsnet from January 17-20. 

A free, family-friendly festival for all ages will take place at Ship Point in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, including hockey clinics hosted by BC Hockey on an outdoor skating rink.

Festival Highlights January 17-20:

Saturday January 20:
  • 9:30 a.m. First Nations Welcome Ceremony; paddling of the Stanley Cup through the Inner Harbour (10 a.m.-4 p.m. on display)
  • 10 a.m. Live Hockey Day in Canada broadcast from Rogers Sportsnet in the Inner Harbour

Victoria celebrates hockey all day on Saturday at Ship Point with fun all-ages activities, hockey clinics, food trucks and music, along with the Stanley Cup and autographs. Wear your favourite Jersey and enjoy watching the games and live broadcast.

Getting There

The public is encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit

The City's free Downtown Bike Valet service accommodates all active transportation devices including adaptive bikes, cargo bikes, bike trailers, jogging strollers and other personal mobility devices. Please Note: The Downtown Bike Valet will be closed on Friday, January 19 due to weather conditions. 

Road Closures

All roads will remain open.

Parking

Ship Point parking lots will be closed from Sunday, January 14 to Monday, January 22 (re-opening Monday evening) to accommodate the festival.

Access to the Harbour Air parking lot will remain open.
