Significant traffic impacts are expected downtown next week (April 7 to 10) for paving work on Blanshard Street from Pandora Ave. to Fort St.

One lane in each direction will be kept open on Blanshard St., but all cross-streets within the project limits (Pandora Ave., Johnson, View, Yates and Fort St.) will be closed while work is underway. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is weather dependent; it may be delayed by cold or wet conditions.

Tentative closure schedule:

  • April 7: Fort, View and Yates St. closed at Blanshard St.
  • April 8: Johnson St. and Pandora Ave. closed at Blanshard St.
  • April 9: Fort, View and Yates St. closed at Blanshard St.
  • April 10: Johnson St. and Pandora Ave. closed at Blanshard St.

What to expect:

  • Major traffic delays downtown
  • Sidewalks will remain open or accessible detours will be provided
  • Access to private properties and City parkades will be maintained with delays
  • Bike lanes may be closed at Blanshard St. — please dismount and walk
  • Visit alerts.bctransit.com for live updates on bus route or stop changes

No matter how you get around, use caution when travelling near work zones and follow directions of signs and crews.
