Victoria at Dusk Brightens Family Day Weekend Downtown

Date

A new walkable winter arts experience will be lighting up Downtown from Feb. 13 to 15. The free event offers illuminated installations, music and interactive experiences Friday through Sunday, from 5 to 9 p.m.

“Victoria at Dusk is a celebration of creativity and connection,” said Mayor Marianne Alto. “By activating public spaces and showcasing local talent, we’re creating a vibrant downtown experience that supports businesses and brings people together during the winter season.”

The self-guided walking route connects five downtown hubs: Royal BC Museum, Victoria Conference Centre, Ship Point, Government Street and Bastion Square. Along the route, expect immersive installations, glowing inflatables, interactive digital art, augmented reality dance, live performances and community activations. Programming will spotlight local and regional talent, including lək̓ʷəŋən artists and storytellers, celebrating Victoria’s creative spirit. Businesses, community groups and buskers will bring added energy along the route, creating a lively downtown atmosphere.

“We’re thrilled to bring this enchanting, winter-friendly art experience to Victoria,” said Melanie Lazelle, founder and creative director of The Wilder. “Victoria at Dusk is about rediscovering the city through light, creativity and play, inviting people of all ages to explore downtown in the darkest months and experience the city in a new way.”

The festival is supported by the City of Victoria’s OUR DWTN initiative, a multi-year effort to revitalize and re-energize downtown through placemaking, arts and culture, economic development and community connection and is produced in partnership with The Wilder, the creative studio behind its immersive installations and interactive experiences.

Victoria at Dusk 2026 is free and open to all ages—make it part of your Family Day weekend plans. For program details, participating artists and route information, visit victoriaatdusk.ca.
