Public washrooms in the following locations will be replaced with modern, more accessible, and gender-neutral facilities:
- Holland Point Park
- Southeast Beacon Hill Park
- Ross Bay Cemetery
Why now?
Most of the City’s 18 public park washrooms were built between 1960 and 2021. Many of the older facilities now require significant renovations to meet current accessibility standards and to renew major building systems.
The three washroom locations being replaced are well used by the public but had the lowest accessibility scores in a 2022 audit. The existing washrooms are identical, making them an ideal trio for a coordinated replacement project.
