Project scope
The City of Victoria will be making upgrades to the Point Ellice Bridge (Bay Street Bridge). Work includes replacing the main deck joint that allows the bridge to expand and shrink with temperature changes. Crews will also be improving the 65-year-old drainage system.
Why now?
Servicing critical infrastructure in a timely manner reduces future maintenance costs and preserves the life of the bridge.
Project impacts
While work is underway you can expect the following impacts:
• Construction noise.
• Occasional full closures overnight.
