Project scope
The City is replacing a 120-year-old water main on Quadra Street between Pandora Avenue and Burdett Avenue. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2026.
Why now?
Upgrading underground assets reduces the risk of future breaks and helps to keep drinking water safe and clean.
The project is partially funded by a grant provided through Infrastructure Canada’s Disaster Mitigation and Adaption Fund (DMAF).
Project impacts:
While work is underway you can expect the following impacts:
• Temporary loss of on-street parking
• Traffic lane and sidewalk restrictions (local and business access maintained)
• Occasional brief interruptions to water service (notification will be provided 48 hours in advance)
• Temporary bus stop relocation
• Construction noise and vibrations
