Stadacona Park Playground Replacement

Project status
Planning

Project scope

The City is replacing sections of the playground that were recently damaged by fire. The repairs will bring the playground back to its previous state, supporting play for children of various ages and abilities. Construction begins this summer and will be completed by fall 2026.

The playground will be closed during construction for safety. The rest of the park will stay open, including green space, tennis courts and trails.

Why now?

This spring, a suspicious fire caused significant damage to the Stadacona Park playground. The City is replacing it as quickly as possible so the community can get back to enjoying its inclusive and accessible play features.

Project Impacts

  • Full playground closure
  • Construction activity, fencing and safety equipment
  • Temporary removal of one picnic table and two park benches for machinery access
