E-Bikes and E-Bike Share

• Riders must be at least 16 years old.
• Helmets are required (provided with each bike or bring your own).
• One rider per e-bike.
• No sidewalk or pedestrian pathway riding. If a parking zone is on the sidewalk or boulevard, walk the bike on the sidewalk.

Lime is responsible for maintenance of the bikes and parking zones, payment and membership options. All bikes have unique identification numbers that can be used for reporting.

E-bikes are pedal assist. Once you start pedalling, the electric motor will assist to a maximum of 25 km/h. 

Slow zones are areas where e-bikes are automatically limited to 15 km/h. These will be indicated on the Lime App in yellow. Slow zones include:

• Government Street from Wharf/Humboldt St and View Street (pedestrian priority zone)
• Dallas Road multi use pathway from Dock Street to Clover Point

No Go Zones are areas where e-bikes will automatically slow and lose their electric pedal assist.

These will be indicated in the Lime App in red. No go zones include:

• Harbour Pathway (pedestrian only)
• Songhees Walkway (pedestrian only)
• Beyond the boundaries of the City of Victoria 

Lime offers passes and pay as you go. Pricing information is available on the Lime app. 

Lime provides options for riders without bank accounts or credit cards. Lime also offers support for those without smartphones including text to unlock. More details can be found on Lime’s website. 

Lime’s equity program, Lime Access, offers discounts on pay as you go rates for eligible riders.
