Project scope
In March 2026, the City will be replacing a 120-year-old water main on Quadra Street between Pandora Avenue and Yates Street. The project is expected to take three months to complete.
Why now?
Upgrading our underground assets helps serve our growing community, reduces future maintenance costs and protects critical infrastructure from earthquakes.
The project is partially funded by a grant provided through Infrastructure Canada’s Disaster Mitigation and Adaption Fund (DMAF).
Project impacts:
While work is underway you can expect the following impacts:
• Temporary loss of on-street parking
• Traffic lane and sidewalk restrictions (local and business access maintained)
• Occasional brief interruptions to water service (notification will be provided 48 hours in advance)
• Temporary bus stop relocation
• Construction noise and vibrations
