Project scope

Construction will take place in three phases: 

  1. Transportation upgrades: Slip lane closure, curb ramps 
  2. Outdoor space improvements: Fencing, seating and pathways 
  3. New sidewalk: Installed south of the site

Why now?

This project implements approved Council direction to build a new leash-optional dog area in Harris Green. It also supports the City’s Strategic Plan and Official Community Plan with the creation of welcoming public spaces and enhancements to the city’s network of linear parkways.

Project Impacts

  • Temporary lane closures, traffic disruptions and detours 
  • Construction equipment, noise and dust 
  • Permanent closure of the Pandora Avenue slip lane (currently connecting east- and westbound Pandora Ave.)
  • Permanent reduction in street parking on eastbound Pandora Avenue
