When: Sunday, July 12, 11 a.m.
Where: The parade begins on Government St. at Pandora Ave., near Centennial Square, and travels along lower Johnson St., Wharf St. and the B.C. Legislature.
Getting Around
- Please walk, bike or bus if you are able.
- Expect traffic congestion, delays and road closures downtown from about 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Access to and from James Bay will be maintained via Superior Street.
- The Johnson Street Bridge will be closed to eastbound vehicle traffic from about 10 a.m. to noon.
- The free Downtown Bike Valet will be available in Centennial Square from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Check BC Transit for temporary bus stop closures and route changes.
Road closure details
Road closures will be in effect from approximately 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support parade staging and the parade route.
7 a.m.-noon:
- Government Street (Chatham St. to Pandora Ave.)
- Herald Street (Store to Douglas St.)
- Fisgard Street (Government to Douglas St.) – parkade access maintained via Douglas St.
10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.:
- Government Street (Pandora Ave. to Johnson St.)
- Johnson Street (Government to Wharf St.)
- Wharf Street (Johnson to Humboldt St.)
- Government Street (Humboldt to Belleville St.)
- Belleville Street (Government to Menzies St.)
Inner Harbour and James Bay
- Access to and from James Bay will be maintained via Superior Street
- BC Transit will continue service via Superior Street
- The BC Transit exchange at the Legislature will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Johnson St Bridge
The Johnson Street Bridge will be closed to eastbound vehicle traffic from approximately 10 a.m. to noon. Westbound bridge access will be maintained via Chatham and Store streets.
