Project scope
The City replaced an aging sewage lift station with new infrastructure to reliably move wastewater through James Bay.
Why now?
Upgrading important assets helps serve our growing community, reduces future maintenance costs and protects critical infrastructure from earthquakes.
The previous lift station had reached the end of its service life, and renewal was needed to maintain reliable, uninterrupted service to the community.
Current status
The new lift station is now in service. The City is currently working through a short list of items identified during start-up including:
- Improving ventilation and odour control
- Reducing noise from station equipment
- Adding an exterior wrap to improve the visual appearance of the station and help it blend nicely into the neighbourhood
