Starting May 1, paid parking will be in effect downtown from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all 90-minute zones, two-hour zones and parkades – extending the current paid parking by one hour in the morning and two hours in the evening. On-street metered parking will be in effect daily and parkades will remain free on Sundays.
Daily and hourly rates will increase by 50 cents per hour for most City of Victoria parking spaces. A full list of the new hourly and day rates is below.
These parking changes were passed as part of the City’s 2023-2027 Draft Financial Plan. A portion of the revenue from the modified parking rates and hours will be used to reduce the property tax increase for residents. Any revenue over and above the amount needed to restrict the final property tax increase will be reinvested in the downtown core, supporting beautification and maintenance, cultural opportunities, new public parks, amenities and more.
