Fresh off celebrating Pride Month, a new welcoming sticker on City facility glass doors and windows now greets employees and visitors.

The design features the word “Welcome” and the Intersex Inclusive Progress Pride flag within the shape of a heart.

The sticker conveys City facilities are welcoming, safe and inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies. It sends a message that people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions are valued and respected at City facilities.

The design was developed by City staff in consultation with community stakeholders such as the City’s Welcoming City Advisory Committee and the City of Victoria Youth Council.

Staff receive orientation and ongoing training on making City facilities welcoming and safe for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

The new welcoming sticker aligns with “Community Well-Being and Safety”, one of eight Council priorities in the City’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.
