People thinking of starting up or expanding a childcare facility in Victoria can join a free Small Business Information Session hosted by the City of Victoria’s Business Hub on Tuesday, November 28 from 9-11 a.m. at City Hall.

The Small Business Information Session: How to Start Up or Expand a Childcare Business will begin with a series of short presentations from a range of participating resource partners, followed by an info-fair where you can visit each presenter’s table, ask questions and gather more information.

The City recently completed bylaw amendments to streamline its approval processes to help encourage new childcare spaces. Staff from the City’s Business Hub, Permits and Inspections division and the Victoria Fire Department will be on hand to share information and answer questions.

Presenting partners will include the Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, Island Health – Child Care Licensing, ChildCareBC (regarding space creation funding), Camosun College, BC Aboriginal Child Care Society, Canada Revenue Agency, Small Business BC and the Inter-cultural Association of Greater Victoria.

Whether you're at the idea stage, ready to launch or just looking for some advice, this session will support you on your childcare space creation journey.

Complimentary childminding will be available. Pre-registration is required. For more information, visit victoria.ca/bizhub.
