Triannual Accountability Report: January 1 – April 30, 2022
Council received a T1 Accountability Report designed to inform Council and the community on the progress of those initiatives that are key to achieving the City's objectives.
In addition to receiving the report for information, Council approved the following related motions:
- Approve that the Accessibility Advisory Committee members receive an honorarium for their participation set at the rate equivalent to the Living Wage in British Columbia to be funded from the Council and Committee budgetand that Council reconsider this once they have received the governance review recommendations.
- Reaffirms its support in principle for protection of the Ivy Place Greenway in perpetuity and directs staff to undertake a detailed analysis of the land use considerations, options, and implications, and report back to Council with recommendations and next steps to permanently close a portion of Ivy Place as a “Naturalized Area”when departmental resources allow.
- That Council forward the Renters Advisory Committee motion regarding Tenant Assistance Policy right of first refusal to council discussions of the rental incentives.
- That Council direct staff to report back through the 2023 budget process on defining free community access requirements for Royal Athletic Park, including a minimum requirement of days/events per year of free city and/or community led use of Royal Athletic Park to ensure the maintenance of free and inclusive community use (i.e., sports, recreation, arts and park access) led by the city and community organizations from 2020-2022. Council will forward this motion arising to the long-term plan for Royal Athletic Park.

Local Street Speed Limit
The City will prepare amendments to the Streets and Traffic Bylaw to reduce speed limits on local roadways to 30 km/h. Staff will report back by Q2 2023 on the progress of the 30 km/h local street speed limit changes and further associated recommendations for amendments to Schedule B of the Streets and Traffic Bylaw to reduce speed limits, where appropriate, on streets that are not designated as "local streets" (including a review of the appropriate speed limit for Toronto Street).
