To celebrate 2025 National Public Works Week, the City is releasing five new limited-edition fleet trading cards. Available at City Hall while supplies last, these cards showcase the unique fleet vehicles that City crews use to build, maintain and protect Victoria’s streets.

“From maintaining roads, parks and water systems to responding to emergencies and keeping our streets safe and clean, our fleet vehicles — and the dedicated crews behind them — work every day to support the well-being of our community,” said Simon Upshon, Acting Assistant Director of Public Works. “These trading cards offer a fun way for residents of all ages to connect with the vital work that keeps Victoria thriving.”

The City’s fleet was recognized as one of the 100 Best Public Fleets in the Americas for 2025. Presented by NAFA Fleet Management Association, this award recognizes public sector fleets committed to excellence in operational performance, sustainability and service delivery. The vehicles being featured in this year’s trading cards are mostly electric and contribute to the City’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint by electrifying or renewably powering 80 per cent of its vehicles by 2040.

National Public Works Week is taking place across North America from May 18 to 24. The week-long event celebrates the contributions of public works divisions in planning, building and managing the everyday operations at the core of local communities.
