Have your say on the future of places and spaces in the Jubilee, Fort Street and Oak Bay Avenue area!
The City of Victoria is updating the Official Community Plan (OCP) for Victoria to meet the needs of our growing population and address the housing and climate crises. The OCP will incorporate directions and plans from recent neighbourhood plans into the proposed update to ensure each area of Victoria can grow and maintain it’s special charm while still aligning with OCP framework.
Areas in and around Jubilee, Fort Street and Oak Bay Avenue do not have recent neighbourhood plans. Join the Ideas Workshop and help shape how these areas can grow and change into the future.
Children are welcome and lunch will be included. The workshop is open to anyone who lives, works, plays, or has a keen interest in the future of the area.

The Ideas Workshop will focus on:
Refining directions for land use, urban design, mobility and public space within the new Official Community Plan.
Opportunities for unique urban design and amenities, especially near villages, town centres, transit and places where people gather.
Better connections and comfort for people walking and rolling.
Opportunities to enhance and better integrate open spaces and greenery.
And explore questions such as:
How can employees be better accommodated at and around the Royal Jubilee Hospital?
How can we develop a more comfortable, pedestrian-friendly community hub at Oak Bay Junction?
How can we improve public spaces in and around Oak Bay Village to better support the needs of the community?
How can shopping centre redevelopment projects contribute to connectivity, green space, community gathering, amenities and housing diversity?
What changes could help the community better connect to a network of green spaces for health, recreation and ecology?
The workshop will begin with an overview of the 10-Year Official Community Plan update before digging into considerations and opportunities for place-based planning in the Jubilee, Fort Street and Oak Bay Avenue area.
