City of Victoria Artist in Residence Kemi Craig invites you to attend a Pop-up Family Dance on Wednesday, March 27 from 5-7 p.m. at 708 Douglas Street for an evening of music, dancing and laughter.
Kemi is a local dance artist who grew up with dance as a part of family life, playing records and dancing after dinner and at family gatherings. She wants to share this experience with local families to gather and move together.
The dance will focus on the youngest members of the family first and use music to engage various ages; the evening moves from preschool through to adults.
The DJ will play a mix of their own choices and a playlist facilitated by community contributions.
REGISTRATION: The event is FREE but one registration per family is required. When registering your family, please let us know how many people in your family plan to attend.
There are 15 family reservations available. Depending on the number of family members who will be participating, the number of family reservations available may change.
Contribute to the Playlist:
We want to hear from you. To contribute to the Pop-Up Family Dance playlist, email the name of your favourite songs and the recording artists to culture@victoria.ca by 4 p.m. on March 20 with “Pop-Up Family Dance Playlist” in the subject line.
