Zoning Bylaw 2018 was approved by Council in July 2018 and amended in September 2025 to support growth and development through modernization of the City’s zoning. Ten zones now cover the Downtown Core Area, the Industry, Arts and Innovation District, the Villages and Town Centres and most residential lands.
The new zones retain existing development rights while supporting the implementation of the Official Community Plan.
